Example of a successful life coach-client relationship!
A Successful Life Coach-Client Relationship is only determined when the client actually achieves his or hers Coachable Goals.
Only the client (the King or Queen in this relationship) can determine whether the Coachable Goals are completed.
This is a real life example of a successful life coach-client relationship where a 54-year old young man we call Fred achieved his 2 “Coachable Goals” shown below, in only 6 cycles with his TCC matched life coach. His name and some of the circumstances have been changed to protect his identity.
1. Discover, create and be working in his “Ideal Income Position”
2. Discover, create and be living in true “Life Balance”
Fred came to TCC with his life in a mess.
Fred had been become a lost, stuck, confused, unhappy, and a very cantankerous person. Why? Because he had been bouncing around for about 12 years trying to find the right jobs and work positions that he fit using the “Trial and Error” work selection method, Emphasis on Error. Unfortunately, he met failure after failure not knowing why. His confidence had deteriorated, his positive attitude had been trampled, his financial resources had been depleted, his health had worsened and his relationships with his children and his wife had become stressful and strained.
To make matters worse his ego and pride had been crushed, because he had previously enjoyed a spectacularly successful career right out of college. He had risen to a very highly respected position not only in his company, but also more importantly in the entire large worldwide industry in which he worked. He was extremely well paid and had everything going for him because he was enjoying his true perfect career and he knew it.
He had been lucky enough to receive life coaching straight out of college. Yet he had been unaware he had been coached, because the Official life coaching process and industry would not be started until almost 20 years later.
Fred and everyone around him lost their jobs!
Then everything imploded around him. The entire industry underwent drastic upheavals so that the position that he had excelled and was so well regarded was no longer needed. Not only for him but all of his colleagues performing the same functions working for other companies as well. This happened very fast. He found himself being a world class, highly paid, well regarded expert in a field that was no longer important enough to earn any money.
Yet, he expected to easily succeed again. And to top it all off he was also undergoing a classic Mid-Life Crisis but would not admit it. Somehow he backed into a gig where he helped existing small business owners improve their profits and managed to do well enough to attract a steady stream of new clients by referrals only. He generated no website and produced no marking materials. Someone told him that it sounded like he was a business coach, so he called himself a business coach, but in truth was not providing real coaching.
Fred discovered his “Coachable Goals”
He finally realized that being a business coach was also not right for him and decided to hire a real life coach. He was very lucky to connect with an exceptional life coach who insisted that he have a “Coachable Goal” before he could be coached. Together they figured out that his real goal was to finally figure out what he really wanted to do, that he enjoyed, was very good at and that would allow him to help other people and be rewarded enough to earn a good living. In essence his Coachable Goal was to discover and achieve his “Ideal Income Position.” But Fred thought actually achieving this “Coachable Goal” sounded too good to be true. He was very skeptical to say the least.
Fred started coaching and discovered himself
It took his life coach only 8 minutes in their first session to reflect back to Fred that his real PASSION was to become a business owner, not advise other owners. Furthermore he discovered a hidden passion to fish but not be a guide. He was also made aware of his natural talent to relate to people and organize things for others. Fred discovered that his true passion was to start and run a business to connect fishermen with their best-suited fishing guides and experiences.
Fred added Life Balance as his second Coachable Goal. During this coaching process, Fred discovered over 80 activities he really disliked and 5 activities he was passionate about and 6 activities he had a genuine unknown talent to perform. He also discovered his passion to create Life Balance to fulfill his priority to continue living in his dream home to work out of his house, to create more time for his family, and to enjoy the sport he also discovered he was really passionate about and had further discovered his natural talent to play. Tennis.
Fred spent 6 months designing the conditions of his ideal income position and life balance that allowed Fred to fulfill his passions and priorities, follow his beliefs and values, maximize his talents and avoid as many of his self imposed obstacles as he could. His coach then held Fred accountable to actually activate all of his conditions to achieve both goals.
Fred started his new Ideal Income Position with true Life Balance
So he started Fred’s Fun Fishing Company with the mission of providing world class fishing experiences to his customers but Fred would not be the guide. Fred researched, found, and tested (by going fishing with all candidates) a group of outstanding fishing guides and fishing experiences before he would personally recommend them and allow them into his exclusive group. Likewise, he arranged mutually beneficial independent contractor agreements with each, set up a special office in his home, found the right computer systems and software to provide online scheduling by customers, and organize and track his business. Furthermore, he engaged a respected marketing person to set up his website and use social media to launch his business totally on his terms.
The phone started ringing allowing Fred to enjoy his paradise of talking fishing with all callers and help them connect with their best fishing experiences based upon what they loved wanted, and did not want. He created a WIN-WIN-WIN scenario. The customers WON, the fishing guides and services WON and Fred WON.
In addition, Fred organized a number of high level and fun doubles tennis groups to play and enjoy tennis at least 4 times a week, which went a long way to improving his tennis game. He also greatly improved his relationships with his wife and 2 children because he was relaxed, confident, Stress Free, focused on them, much more healthy (virtually free of the chronic sicknesses he had been suffering with for so long) and available for true interactions, because he worked from home, with little travel, and he made time with his family his first priority. Not to mention he was far more fun and helpful to be around providing a very positive connection with his family and friends for the first time is many years.
Fred prospered from his successful life coach-client relationship by enjoying and living in his Ideal Income Position and his Life Balance Coachable Goals, after only 6 cycles of Coaching with his TCC Coach and Fred Knew it.
