Here’s an example of how it feels when you discover what you love: Katie is a joyful little dog who lives next door. When her owner opens the door, so she can go out in the yard, she springs into action – suddenly she’s a racehorse – running like the wind, deliriously happy and focused on her sudden freedom…chasing squirrels and bouncing in the snow!

I know what she’s thinking – “I can do what I want and nobody can stop me!” Truly, I’m not sure if I’ve ever witnessed such sublime happiness…it’s an awesome sight!

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could feel like that about our job? I mean you’re at work sometimes more than you’re at home, you communicate all day long with people you didn’t even know before you got hired and you are getting paid to do something – do you love it?

So, I ask you again – how do you discover what you love to do? Do you hit the snooze button 32 times before rising? Do call in sick when you’re not? Have you ever driven to work in the morning, thinking “Weekend, hurry up!” Do you hate Monday’s?

Are you underpaid, underappreciated AND overworked all at the same time? These are only some of the signs that you may not be in the right career for you….and…that you may not be joyfully jumping through piles of leaves, which also leads me to believe that you may not love what you do.

But you’re thinking, “I can’t afford to walk away from my job, I’ve got bills, a mortgage, a college loan, and a family!” Right? Plus to discover what you love sounds almost impossible anyway! So why bother trying?

But there is one thing that you can do now. This one thing will help you really discover what you love to do to actually get to your career goals faster than any other improvement process and you can do this while you are still working in your current position – so no-one has to know that you are on the road to achieving your dream job, but you.

The question I’d like to ask is “what’s the cost to NOT hire a coach?
