The Four Keys to Successful Life Coaching

Why is it important for you understand the four keys to successful life coaching?

Too many people engage a coach without meeting all four of the basic coaching conditions and they rarely achieve full success.

Unfortunately, most people (and even most coaches) are not aware of these conditions and the coaching process is blamed, because coaching was inappropriately used. Just like people who go snow skiing in Miami in August, will not be successful because the snow conditions are not right. Snow skiing is still great but only under the right conditions.

The life coaching process works, but only under the following Four Key Conditions.
(Whether through TCC or elsewhere.)

1. You have at least one goal that is best achieved through life coaching. The reason you hire a life coach is to achieve your “life coachable goals.” The reason your life coach coaches you is to be sure your achieve your coachable goals. Do not engage a coach without a coachable goal.

A “Coachable Goal” is a future place you want to be as a person that requires you to grow or improve as a person to reach it. TCC clients have not only created over 15 different and very remarkable  “life coachable goals” but have also achieved them through life coaching with The Coach Connection.

2. You are ready to participate in the life coaching process. Your readiness level is a state of mind and an attitude. You have total control over your degree of readiness. Being ready is something only you control. You cannot be forced, sold, or tricked into being ready. Your TCC Advocate will assist you during your free consultation to discover your level of readiness.  Being ready is a timing thing.  If you are not ready, your Advocate will encourage you to wait until you are. Answering the following four questions will provide you and your TCC Advocate an excellent indicator of your degree of readiness.

I. How committed are you to achieving your “Coachable Goals?” Normally people select “Coachable Goals” that are the extremely important to them; otherwise they would not have sought help. You will reach your goal much faster and more completely if you are fully committed to achieving it.

II. How willing are you to accept new perspectives about you? One of the key powers of coaching is that your life coach will provide you with an objective, nonjudgmental, non critical, non biased, truth seeking and supportive reflective view of who you are, what you want, and what you do to obstruct your progress, so you become “The Worlds Leading Expert on You.” You are not required to agree with your coach’s reflections, just be willing to accept your coach’s reflections of you.

III. How willing are you to invest money in you? YOU ARE the most important asset you will ever have! Hiring a coach is one of the greatest ways to invest in YOU. Why? Because you will improve and grow as a person through coaching.  Paying for life coaching is a true investment, where you can expect to receive more out of it than you invested. As you grow 10%, 20% 50%, everything around you improves 100%, 200%, and 500%. A very in depth and thorough Case Study on the Return On Investment (ROI) of executive coaching reported that “Coaching produced a 529% return on investment and significant additional intangible benefits to the business.”

IV. How willing are you to take action? Coaching in a very action oriented process. You and your coach will discover the action steps that will take you to your goals. You will want to be ready to execute the steps (one at a time) to achieve your goals.

3. You are matched with the life coach who is best suited (ideal) for you. Life coaching is a very personal process and not just any coach will do for you. You want to engage a partner life coach whom you personally connect with extremely well. Whom you really like. You will want to have a strong mutual trust and strong mutual respect with your coach, and you want to feel and know that your coach focuses all of her or his efforts and energies on you and your goals.

Your TCC Advocate will personally match you with, at least, three TCC Member Coaches who are ideally matched to you. You will receive true coaching sessions, without a hint of sales.  You select your “Ideal Coach,” or you will receive your money back.

4. Your life coach has considerable experience and excellent coaching character. You Are the King or Queen in your coaching relationship. You want your life coach to be your Equal Partner so that you will be free (from judgment, and from lack of respect) and encouraged to open up to your coach and reveal the inner core ingredients about you that you have not revealed to anyone before. (Including yourself) You want your coach to also have the special “Gift of Coaching,” and to be excited to coach YOU because they have chosen you as their ideal client, before you arrived.

You DO NOT want your coach to act as your superior by trying to train you, advise you, instruct you, judge you, critique you, adjust you, evaluate past events with you, criticize you, or tell you what you “should” or “should not” do. If you feel your coach is acting as your superior, most often the coaching process will no longer happen.

You want your life coach to have an exceptional track record in coaching people just like you to achieve the same results you are seeking. The best way to ever measure the qualities of potential life coaches is how successful their many previous clients were in accomplishing their goals.
