6. Become a more productive and successful business owner
Business owners want to increase the profits of their businesses (and their own take home income) but do so with less effort and less time required so they will enjoy other parts of their lives with the additional money the business generates. Being a business owner can be a lonely and never ending process. By becoming a more productive and successful business owner, you will:
- Discover and define exactly what in means for you and your business to be successful and productive
- Discover what you will want and need to prosper (on your terms) as a business owner.
- Design the mission of your business where your business provides products and/or services that generate VALUE into the world, not done elsewhere.
- Organize the operations and conditions of the business to allow you to perform the needed functions and duties that you truly enjoy and excel at achieving.
- Organize the efforts and results of others to operate your business to create your desired profits with as little management needed on your part.
- Organize the operations of the business to have others to achieve the desired results of the needed functions and duties that you truly dislike.
- Organize the operations and conditions of the business to allow you exit the business at the time and under the conditions that best suit you.
- The growth of the business depends on the owner
The growth and success of businesses are dependent upon the growth and improvement of the owners. As the head goes (the owner) so goes the body (the business). There are basic functions every business must perform to succeed. These functions include: product development or acquisition, marketing of the products or services, sales of the products or services, delivery of the products or services, collections and accountability of moneys, hiring and organizing employees, managing the day to day operations of the business, data collection and record keeping, establishing and managing communications with customers and business team members, setting and leading the business towards visionary objectives, etc. The responsibility of making sure these functions are completed at the right time and in the best manner for the business falls completely on the owner. If the owner does not do his or her job to make sure all of the needed business functions are completed, then the business will falter.
Owners who create their businesses around themselves create and operate successful businesses. They make sure all of the needed business functions are performed properly and on time. But, these owners do not even try to perform them all by themselves. They select the functions they really enjoy, and those they excel at completing to handle themselves. They have these other functions performed by people or groups (either within the business or outside it) who want to achieve them, and excel at doing so. Outsourcing business functions today is much easier and less expensive than ever before.
