Skilled Jobs Are Waiting For Smart Job Seekers

A recent Wall Street Journal article entitled “Help Wanted: In Unexpected Twist, Some Skilled Jobs Go Begging” revealed that thousands of skilled jobs are not being filled. One recruiter is looking to hire 600 people by year-end. The primary reasons given for so many jobs going unfilled are a “mismatch of skills,” and “companies have become pickier amid the slow economy.” These factors further confirm that unemployed workers who want to obtain meaningful and rewarding jobs, or workers who want to transition into more enjoyable and productive jobs can be very successful by focusing on potential job matches. The secret to getting hired is to know the work positions you are ideally suited to perform before you go job hunting. Workers who expend the effort and time to discover their own “ideal income positions” that allow them to do what they love and are so good at performing become almost automatic hires for the jobs they target as being the best suited (Read best … [Read more...]

Happy Accident + Entrepreneural Spirit + Coaching = Thriving Business

Do you know what a “happy accident” is? A happy accident happens when the end result of something, unexpectedly works out in a way you didn’t plan – in a really good way! Although I have changed some things to protect this business owner’s privacy – this is a true story: Beth made Bon Bon’s for special occasions - church picnics, holiday teacher’s gifts, etc...Her recipe had been handed down for generations. After a long, had day at work she’d make candy - she’d unwind from the stress of her day while in her kitchen, experimenting with the basic recipe. She delighted in putting her own spin on each batch, packaging her candy creations in exquisite wrapping and viola’ – beautiful homemade gifts! Everyone raved…they would always ask Beth from what specialty shop did buy the Bon Bon’s. Over the years, as Beth told her family story about her Bon Bon’s, she would get the same response over and over again: “Wait - you made these? Seriously – you should make … [Read more...]

Life Coaching Is Based Upon Physics

The life coaching process is very fundamentally sound because it is based upon solid physics. The physics of life coaching is that humans cannot see their own faces because of the physical location of their eyes. The only way humans see their face is to look into a mirror. But what is a mirror? A mirror provides a real time reflection of an outside reflection looking back at the person (You). A mirror shows a reflection of the TRUTH. Most mirrors, unless at carnivals, do not distort or change any part of the reflection. And, mirrors do not comment or judge the reflections they give. They just reflect what is there, without distortion, and without judgment. Likewise, your life coach will provide you a real time reflection of you! Your life coach will get you to open up and reveal the core ingredients of what motivates and governs your every decision. Your life coach will then reflect the core ingredients you divulged back to you in the same objective clear truthful manner as a … [Read more...]

Ok, I admit it I really am a fan of Jeremy Lin for all of the reasons he deserves his successes. Jeremy Lin is leading the Knicks on the new winning path (8wins, 1 loss so far) because he does it his own way, and he admits that. He decided to stop trying to fit in, but be aggressive and do it his way. It is easy to see he is very relaxed and confident within his own skin. He unraveled the mystery of himself; Jeremy Lin, a key outcome of life coaching. He brought a much higher purpose to the Knicks. He focuses on doing what it takes to win, by involving all of his teammates. He has turned the Knicks franchise around, without their two high paid stars; Carmello Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire by creating numerous shots and enthusiasm for his teammates who had normally been relegated to watching Mello and Amar’e post up and shoot. Hopefully, Jeremy Lin will not fall prey to the media’s focus on stats, (Scoring, Turnovers, etc.) or the full return of Mello and Amar’e and he … [Read more...]
