1. Pay for coach training or coach schooling. Go to Coach Training Programs and Schools for a very thorough and valuable introduction of all coach learning and training possibilities.
A. Attend any of the over 329 coaching training schools. The mostly for profit based training schools focus more on coach training, skills development, and knowledge building to train you to become a life coach. Some schools specialize in different types of life coaching, like career coaching, or business coaching. The fees to complete the basic coach training programs will range from hundreds of dollars to over $25,000, and will take from 6 weeks to over two years.
B. Attend any of the approximately 180 University based graduate studies programs that provide a more traditional college curriculum to attain a degree related to coaching in some manner.Tuition rates and time requirements are unknown.

2. Call yourself a “Coach” and begin coaching. There are no regulations or licenses required to become a life coach. Just like there are no regulations or licenses required to become a football, or basketball coach. Thomas Leonard,  the founder or co-founder of three of the longest operating coach training schools continuously stated that the best way to become an excellent personal coach is to actually coach. However, unless, a person has actually experienced being coached, coaching others would require a very steep and confusing learning process. Just like coaching football would be very difficult for someone who had never played football, or been directly involved in football.

3. Engage a life coach to become a life coach. By engaging a life coach you will discover the in’s and out’s of the very special and very different life coaching process, from the perspective of a coaching client, and especially how the very unique life coach-client relationship actually works. Personally knowing and feeling the remarkable life coaching process for yourself will provide you the clarity and confidence to coach others to feel the same thing. You will also be coached while you coach others. Life coaching prices will range from $300 per month to over $2,300 per month and periods of from 1 month to over 18 months.
